Romain Pinquié

I am an Associate Professor in Computer-Mediated Engineering Design at Grenoble Institute of Technology and a research fellow at the G-SCOP UMR Laboratory of Design, Optimisation and Production. The goal of my research is to understand and design human-compter interactions for systems engineering.

  • As a contribution to theory, I try to understand how humans represent and interact with different types of digital design information.
  • As a contribution to practice, I invent collaborative, highly interactive and visually rich 3D systems modelling user interfaces by mixing three interaction paradigms: Computer-as-tool (HCI) to extend engineers capabilities, Computer-as-partner (AI) to delegate tasks to anthropomorphic artificial agents, and Computer-as-medium (CSCW) to communicate with teammates.
